A Series of Unfortunate Events GBA Game Review

A Series of Unfortunate Events GBA Review

A series of unfortunate events (asoue) on the game boy advance (gba) is a game based off of the movie of the same name. It's a movie adaptation game so I wasn't expecting much, but I've read the books the movies based on, theres also a tv show now so a thought it's a good time to play and review it. The game follows 3 kids and the same plot as the movie. You can switch through the kids at any time in the game, but you can't stay as one character because to progress you have to use each characters individual abilities. Which is where what I liked about the game pops in. I did quite enjoy that each of the kids had different aspects to the character and is a big part of the franchise as a whole.
Screen to select characters, Klaus, Sunny, or Violet

One of the best ones is a mode where you can design inventions and actually use them in the game. The music is pretty fire, it isn't DJ Khaled but it fits what the game is going for with the eeriness and all, so it's good. But where the game falls apart is the fact that the whole gameplay is a platformer that really just ends up being a fetch quest with some neat mechanics put within.
So in the end I would recommend Asoue for the gba if you are a fan of the movie, books or tv series, but if not it's definitely not the best game ever. I would rate it a 6.5/10. I'm coming for your souls you trolls! Stay connected. Bye
